About South Temecula Veterinary Hospital & Pet Hotel
Established in 2007 by a solo doctor with the vision to provide reasonably priced high quality veterinary care, South Temecula Veterinary Hospital has grown in demand to become a seven-day-a-week, four-doctor practice. We offer extended week day hours and operate year-round (boarding care 365 days a year; closed to appointments for major holidays) to accommodate even the most hectic pet parent schedules. Our convenient location between Temecula Parkway and Wolf Store Road with easy access from Highway 15 makes getting here a breeze, even from surrounding locales...and we offer drop off services and day boarding, should our close proximity to wine country tempt you to visit while you're in the area!
Our vision has now been further defined as consistently delivering affordable tailored individual plans and goals for each patient and their families through development of strong partnerships in support of your loyal companions' long, healthy and happy lives, and to reduce fear and anxiety, making veterinary care enjoyable, rather than a chore.
About our Mission: Imagine if someone could guarantee you a longer, healthier life for your best friend – your loyal, non-judgmental, constant companion with whom you share an irreplaceable bond – would you take them up on their offer? While no one can make absolute guarantees in medicine, research has shown that early detection of diseases is a key factor in reducing the risk of that disease actually causing symptomatic illness, or if it does, extending the quality of life by managing the symptoms and progression of that disease. Many illnesses are creeping, insidious things that take months or even years to rear their ugly heads, but with annual screening blood work we are able to monitor trends in biochemical markers for certain diseases. For example, kidney disease rarely shows up on blood work until 75% or more of normal kidney function is lost, and by then it is often too late to preserve long-term good quality of life. But with serial blood work at annual visits we are able to detect rising elevations in these values, even though they remain within the normal range, and are then able to take steps to help protect the kidneys, easing their workload and many times slowing the progression of kidney disease or preventing kidney failure altogether. In such cases the old saying "an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure" is very true, as the cost of annual blood work is less than 10% of the cost of treating kidney failure, and the benefit of being able to potentially reduce the risk of your pet suffering such catastrophic illness is priceless. Through our partnership with you and advances in medical technology we have a higher than ever success rate in being able to achieve such goals. Call today to schedule an exam and consultation where we can discuss your pet's individualized plan.
Our core values of integrity, trust, honesty, and best medical and ethical practices are based on advocacy for those who cannot speak for themselves and stem from the Veterinarian's Oath:
"... I solemnly swear to use my scientific knowledge and skills for the benefit of society through the protection of animal health and welfare, the prevention and relief of animal suffering, the conservation of animal resources, the promotion of public health, and the advancement of medical knowledge.
I will practice my profession conscientiously, with dignity, and in keeping with the principles of veterinary medical ethics..."
It is with humble pride that we at South Temecula Veterinary Hospital accept this lifelong responsibility as a gift rather than merely an obligation.
